Transparency varies from one diamond

by on Jan.25, 2010, under Uncategorized

Transparency varies from one diamond stone to another, depending on its type. This is one quality that is used in the determination of its value as a gemstone. Other qualities are brilliance, fire, and resistance to the elements, in which diamond excels. Some diamond stones have been known to sell for millions of dollars. There is nothing to it besides the effects that its various properties and qualities have on its market value. Sometimes they are good, and sometimes they are not so good, but most of the time, some poor sucker is happy to stake their money for it. And I wouldnt blame them either. I would too, if I had many millions of dollars to spend on niceties. The presence of trace elements in a diamond fragment might imply that the stone will not find a ready buyer. With imperfections like nitrogen, nobody wants to be stuck with such a stone, unless they add a color to it that makes it even more desirable. At least, then somebody might want it especially. Ballas is a type of diamond that is compact and spherical in shape. It is a mass of tiny diamond crystals that are extremely hard and tough. You are not likely to find this in many places because it is rather scarce. In any case, not many jewelers will use it for jewelry because it is not a single crystal. When minute fragments of gem diamonds are bound together by that sand strong bond that is unique to diamond, they are sometimes called bort. They differ from ballas in critical appearance only and you need not worry, they usually dont use these ones for jewels because they are not considered perfect.
