Mass Effect 2 RRP: Pounds 49.99 For: Xbox 360 Type: RPG/Shooter Commander Shepard, on another space mission dubbed “suicidal”, returns to the supreme futuristic world created by Bioware, in the second episode of the Mass Effect trilogy. And, put simply, it’s an early contender for game of the year.
Mass Effect may have dazzled with its storyline, voice acting, deep RPG elements and excellent action encounters, but this second episode improves in every area. You can even import your character from the first game, which will tinker with the second storyline right from the off, and you know your decisions in this experience will have a bearing on the final instalment, too.
It’s epic, huge in every sense, but you’ll never lose that crucial personal connection. After all, every decision you make, conversation you have and levelling up you craft will make your Mass Effect 2 experience a completely unique one. Incredible.
MAG RRP: Pounds 44.99 For: PS3 Type: Shooter Why have 16 players battling it out on an online battlefield when you can have 256? That’s probably the killer stat for MAG (or Massive Action Game), but a more detailed look into how this plays out reveals a deep level of tactical thought required to rise through the ranks and, ultimately, exert more control over the mile-wide battlefields.
