What if we

by on Apr.28, 2010, under Uncategorized

What if we could bring down the number of 40,000 annual highway deaths in the United States? What if we could cut that number by a third in the next five years and a half in the next ten years? Would it be worth the Herculean effort required? Can we afford the increased cost of our automobiles if we did? What would it cost? With the United States Automakers reporting losses of enormous amounts, unions striking and SEC investigations could the industry, which employs millions take another obligation of this magnitude?

What if we had better driver training and more responsibility of the drivers in their SUVs? What if the average American was in less of a hurry all the time, could be slow down the rate of deaths each month? On a given three day weekend we lose more lives to driving accidents which could have been prevented than the entire number of soldiers in the Iraq War. It is true. One weekend.

What if we built into our cars better systems to keep track of the cars around us? What if our cars were communicating with smart roads, which limited our speeds? What if cars had all wheel drive electric motors on each wheel, which added stability controls.

Perhaps some see change as an

by on Apr.28, 2010, under Uncategorized

Perhaps some see change as an indication they have no control over their lives, so they do everything they can to avoid change and feel like its victim when they face it.

Yet anyone who reads much of Mary Baker Eddy’s writings probably gets a view of change as normal and sometimes necessary. She frequently uses such phrases as “change your course”. . . “a change demanded”. . . “change of heart”. . . “change the human concept of life. . .” And following change, comes the promise of growth, healing and progress. She makes change sound desirable and positive, and not a bad thing after all.

Recently, I asked my daughter how she has adjusted to military life — with its sometimes unexpected changes.

She said, “That was the hardest element for me, not being able to plan out the next few years of our lives. I think the uncertainty we face has caused me to become a more fluid person. I am better able to deal with change and have become more spontaneous.”

As her mom, it has been fun to witness this change in my daughter. She no longer sees change as some burdensome challenge she must face at times. I see in her a young woman who has embraced change as natural as life itself.

People are different and they

by on Apr.28, 2010, under Uncategorized

People are different and they show off their stress in various ways. You need to find what your poison is and attack it in your own way. Or else, you could hurt yourself and others. Most shrinks help people cool off by getting them to talk. I saw that in a movie once, and I have been relieving my stress that way ever since. Boy, does it work! You could hurt someone close to you because you don’t know what your poison is. If you did you could have asked them to stop before they took things that far. It is not their fault; it is yours for not being able to identify and defuse the situation. It is the first step to stress relief. There are loads of ways by which people relieve stress these days, and any of them could be yours. Why not read up on them over the internet and then consider your options. You shouldnt wait until you are in another fix before you deal with it. Stress relief is easy when you really want to do it. That way when the therapist directs you to do the right thing, youd do it without thinking too much about it. Thats how to do it.

Psychiatrists insist that they are a scientific

by on Apr.28, 2010, under Uncategorized

Psychiatrists insist that they are a scientific profession, yet in failing to explore psychotherapy in a scientific way, they are failing as scientists.

My own logic, however, was simple. Nature operates on the simple principle that each problem contains its own solution. The hormonal feedback system, mentioned above, is an example of this. The principle also applies to neurotransmitters. Thus, if something in Nature causes an imbalance in the neurotransmitters in the body, Nature must have it own way of reversing this imbalance. I had to learn Nature?s way for myself, through scientific exploration and experience.

Relaxation and Imagery

The Internet was a useful tool in my initial research. It helped me to discover how other practitioners around the world had succeeded in treating psychiatric conditions without using drugs. I combined this with my own research.

By 1997, one year after setting up my own practice as a medical hypnotherapist, I had acquired a good scientific knowledge of how almost all functional psychiatric conditions could be treated with little or no medication.

The number of British and American

by on Apr.27, 2010, under Uncategorized

The number of British and American adults who are unfamiliar with VoIP has shrunk dramatically over the past few months, but over 50% still remain in the dark about this important communication technology, according to recent study.

The number of adults familiar with VoIP grew from 37% to 46% in the UK over the course of the last nine months. This figure grew even more noticeably in the United States, where it increased from 36% to 51%, according to survey by Harris Interactive.

There are still a lot of people, however, who haven’t even heard of this highly efficient telecom technology. 41% of respondents in Britain, and 36% in the US claimed that they had never heard tell of VoIP.

As for individual companies, Vonage was the most recognized VoIP brand name in the US, while Skype and BT were neck and neck for the title in the UK.

by on Apr.27, 2010, under Uncategorized

With the prompt window up, you just type in “msconfig” and you are ready to go. For Windows 2000 users, you will have to download this program from somewhere, just “google” it and you will find it easily. When the application pops up, click on the startup tab and uncheck all unnecessary programs that are scheduled to startup on every reboot. Doing this will ensure that no physical or virtual memory is wasted on services that are not a necessity at the present time.

A standard maintenance wouldn’t be complete without a disk defragmentation. You will want to run a disk defragmentation once a month. Many people make the mistake of running the defragmentation in normal mode, but to get the best results, you will want to reboot in safe mode before running the application.

You will know when

by on Apr.27, 2010, under Uncategorized

You will know when the time is right and that will be when you answer an unequivocal ?Yes!? to the above questions.

2. Developing a vision. When I ask people what their goals are for a weight loss program the answer is always, ?to lose weight of course?, or ?to lose x amount of pounds?. It is crucial to have another more, heart-felt reason to lose weight other than losing pounds and appearance. This is because when times are tough, and they will be during any change process, you will need a heart-felt or internal reason to lose the weight to keep you motivated. Losing weight for appearance is ok but it is an external reason and will not help to keep you motivated for long.

In the past my clients have chosen things like, being able to play with their kids, running a marathon, backpacking trip they have longed to go on for years, and a big motivator is often a health condition. I call this your vision. It is imperative to take a few minutes to learn what your vision is. What is important to you that you will be able to achieve with weight loss? Write this vision down and plaster it everywhere so you always see your end goal and it will always help to motivate you further when times are tough.

3. Self Talk ? is yours negative or positive? Unfortunately it?s true that we are our own worst critics and like hearing any critic it often leads us to failure because we believe the critic is right.

Digital cameras are the wave

by on Apr.26, 2010, under Uncategorized

Digital cameras are the wave of the new century, replacing the old films that dominated the most of the past one. Some photographers still use the film cameras but the digital ones have more than just an edge. For a digital camera, you dont need film. The image you capture is stored like data on a computer. There’re special softwares that work with digital cameras once you install them on your computer. You snap, you connect, and then you download your photos onto the computer via special cables that come with the camera. After this, you only have to print them, email them to a friend or website, or burn them unto a disc. Digital cameras rely on the computer to receive the photos and do with it as you please. It’s more convenient than having to wait hours to have your film developed then printed. Surely you cant count how many times you have waited to develop a film until you eventually forgot about it. This will only happens with a digital camera if you want it to.
