If you are someone that wants
by admin on May.31, 2010, under Uncategorized
If you are someone that wants to build his or her own website or just needs to send and receive emails in your name or company name, its time to register your domain name. Any person that really desires a particular domain name for his or her website should register it before someone else does, because the first to do so owns the domain name. More often than not you will notice that extra services are offered by domain registration sites; such as marketing and free site building tools, 24/7 customer support, lots of web space, lots of bandwidth and enough email addresses. There are several others that take it many steps more by offering email forwarding, more web hosting packages, forwarding of URL, systems that prevent spam, etc. Its a good idea to stick to those that give their customers such extra services. So, dedicate the time needed to find the RIGHT domain name service, before committing your funds to buy domain names. Anyone that desires to find the BEST domain name registration site ought to invest a good deal of time to search and compare. There are a lot of domain name registration services to pick from these days, but the absolute best, according to most people, are GoDaddy, Yahoo!, NameCheap, Interland and Stargate. Even though the normal cost of domain names is about $10, you can get them lower from some of these popular domain name registration sites, if you search. That’s why it’s important not to buy any domain from a particular domain name registration site without first checking other domain name registration sites. Closely related to this, don’t sacrifice good service for the sake of price. Since many of the domain registration sites have forums, you can visit these to hear the opinions of users. Any domain name registration site that has problems with their services, such will be revealed when you peruse their forums. If you want more honest reviews about any domain registration site, check out what other people in the website designing and Internet marketing forums are saying. Lastly, dont forget the critical importance of domain names in the success or failure of your websites; get only the best from the best domain registration sites out there.

Effective managers have an arsenal of tools
by admin on May.31, 2010, under Uncategorized
Effective managers have an arsenal of tools to draw from and, most importantly, they have the performance analysis skills to know which tools to use. Coaching, feedback, counseling, feedback, information sharing, self-disclosing, encouragement, recognition, problem-solving, corrective action, and others are options that the effective manager can use at will.
#4 Learn and Practice Your Craft ? Like parenting, most new to the position find themselves underprepared for the awesome responsibilities. Like parenting, effective managers study the craft and art of managing. While most of us were promoted to management positions because of our technical expertise (and to some degree our ability to not bump into furniture or tick anyone off), what brought us here won?t keep us here. In fact, many of our technical competencies work against us as managers and supervisors. Certainly, there is no shortage of books and courses on management and leadership.
#3 Self-Assess and Course Correct ? Almost any management failure can be traced back to an almost conscious decision to ignore the realities of the situation.

Rediscovered art paints a valuable picture of past

THE painting of Whitby hung half-way up the stairs in Paul Thompson’s childhood home.
His parents had placed the pleasing oil painting in the crook of the staircase in their semi, effectively ensuring that it would be seen by their young son every night when he was taken upstairs to bed.
It was 1954. And although aged just four at the time, Paul did what children usually do when they see a picture over and over again – he soaked up every detail: the dull red of the house roofs, the harbour view and the woman ascending Whitby’s famous ”199 Steps”, now a tourist attraction.
But then life changed. Paul grew up; his parents moved house and the painting was put away. It wasn’t seen again for another half a century. But when it was, it brought with it an association of memories all to do with childhood, the war and a bomber pilot from Nottingham who died in action aged just 22.
Paul, a civil servant, rediscovered the painting when he was clearing out the attic of his parents’ home following the death of his mother, Joan, in 2005.
Pleased to have unearthed a cherished piece of his childhood, and one he had never really forgotten, he also began trying to find out more about it. For a start, who had painted it? “When we looked at the back we could see a signature, but the writing wasn’t that clear,” he says. “At first, we thought it said Spencer but then we looked and looked and looked and could make out that it said Arthur Spooner.”
Spooner, as Paul was to find out from research, was the popular and influential Nottingham born-and-bred painter whose best known canvas, The Goose Fair, painted in 1926, is now owned by Nottingham Castle.
Born in 1873, Spooner received his formal art training at the former Nottingham School of Art, where he later taught, and also became a founder member of the Nottingham Society of Artists, where his contemporaries included Harold and Dame Laura Knight.
Spooner lived and worked in the city throughout his life and, since his death in 1962, his paintings have grown in value. His painting of the Nottingham Boat Club, for example, sold for nearly Pounds 92,000 in the 1980s.
Spooner’s The Goose Fair was bought for Nottingham for Pounds 218,000 by Sir Harry Djanogly at auction to prevent it going into private hands.
So Paul had inherited a Spooner. But why did his parents own the painting? Spooner, he learned, had been commissioned to paint the Whitby picture as a wedding present in 1942 for Paul’s mother and her first husband, Walter ”Wally” Dench, an RAF Wellington bomber pilot from Nottingham.
A Sergeant Pilot in the RAF Volunteer Reserve, he flew with 40 Squadron and was the son of Walter and May Dench.
“My mother said he was a handsome, dashing man with film star good looks,” says Paul. “He had wanted to be a Church of England vicar and went to see the Bishop, who told him it was all right to fly bombers.”
But a year after the wedding, Wally was dead, reported missing in action over Italy on July 6, 1943. He was 22 and is today buried in the Commonwealth war graves cemetery, in Catania, Sicily.
“I watched a film once on TV with my mother and there was a young war widow in the film who opened a cupboard, buried her face in her late husband’s suit and started crying,” says Paul. “My mother said to me, ‘Gosh, I remember doing that’.”
Paul’s mother later re-married – to childhood sweetheart, Vincent – Paul’s father

As a qualified Air
by admin on May.30, 2010, under Uncategorized
As a qualified Air Duct cleaning technician it is my intention here to answer one of the most frequently asked questions when it comes to air duct cleaning.
The one question that we are asked on all of our air duct cleaning jobs is…How often should my air ducts be cleaned?
If you have ever asked an air duct cleaning company that same question, then you have probably received the standard answer of…Every 3 to 5 years.
I’ve even heard of some air duct cleaning companies making ridiculous claims that they will warranty their work for a minimum of 5 years, in other words they are saying that no dust will enter your air duct system for a period of 5 years. That’s like saying that if I wash your windows, they won’t get dirty for 5 years.
I suggest that you stay clear of any air duct cleaning company that makes such a ridiculous claim, If they are going to start off their business relationship with you on a complete lie then they are likely to be unethical, unprofessional and a rip off company.
As you can tell… These kinds of air duct cleaning companies make my blood boil!
Now, back to the topic of how often you should have your air duct cleaned.
The standard answer in this industry is as I mentioned above, every 3 to 5 years however, one must take several things in to consideration, a more frequent air duct cleaning should be performed if:
1) there are smokers in the house
2) there are shedding pets in the house
3) there has been recent remodeling work
4) there are numerous occupants in the home
5) you are not very tidy
6) the cold air return vents are located on the floors versus on the walls
7) you are moving into a new home
these are just a few of the reasons why one might consider a more frequent air duct cleaning schedule.
If you are unsure as to weather or not you are due for an air duct cleaning, I suggest that you remove one of the cold air registers in you home and have a look inside, If you don’t like what you see then hire an air duct cleaning company.

Take the fish out
by admin on May.30, 2010, under Uncategorized
Take the fish out of the aquarium 15 minutes before you’ll drain it and put them in bags or styrofoam boxes: one fish per each container. Fill the fish containers with tank water and don’t forget that about a half of a container space should be left for the air pocket. Don’t feed your fish 24 hours before the move in order to make water in the containers as clean as possible. As a matter of fact, fish would feel too stressed to eat during the whole move – so don’t worry about feeding them; fish can live more than a week without food. Seal the styrofoam boxes with lids and bags – with rubber bands; to reduce the chance of leaking you can double bag your fish. Put the water plants in the separate containers too – they also need to be wet during the move. After you’ve finished packing the fish put all the bags with your pets into a container that can hold steady temperature during the whole period of the move – it might be a cooler.

Compared to the mythic sluggers of baseball
by admin on May.30, 2010, under Uncategorized
Compared to the mythic sluggers of baseball golden days, today’s batters rely on lighter weight bats that also have thinner handles.
True modern science comes into the way that many of today?s bats are cup balance. This involves removing as much as three-quarters of an ounce of wood out of the end of the barrel to make the bat lighter. A lighter bat means a faster swing, and a faster swing means a farther drive. Experts estimate that as many as 30 percent of today?s players use a cup balanced bat.
Today?s professional wood bats mostly come from wood from the white ash tree. Some players, though, have been experimenting with wood from maple trees.

The Good Book says: ‘know ye
by admin on May.30, 2010, under Uncategorized
The Good Book says: ‘know ye not that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, servants ye are to whom ye obey? In English, that means when you are in an alcohol treatment center, you do as you are told. There aren’t a lot of people who go into an alcohol treatment center and come out the same. Make no bones about it, you do have to undergo some extreme conditions in that place, all in the name of treatment for the alcoholism you suffer from. You are either going to be better or worse when if you make it out. I think Ill take my chances with being better. You? Alcohol treatment centers work in different ways all over the world. Since there are different philosophies about the condition, and different treatment methods for addressing it the world over, you cannot expect the procedures and medications to be identical. If you think the processes in any one of them may not agree with you, go elsewhere. But please, don’t try to be too nice to yourself when you make that call. Quitting drinking is never a pretty sight, and you know it. You should not hope so much for something easy that you would check into an alcohol treatment center that cant help you. I would look for the toughest. You can check into an alcohol treatment center online, you know. There are lots of them all over the place, and when you are ready, you can just link up online. But it does not end there. If they are going to treat you till you heal, you will have to go there at some point. Trust me; breaking a drinking habit is not some distance education course you can take online.
